PAMANA Award 2005
There are four categories:

Personal Achievement Award - given to a Fil-Am who has attained success in his or her chosen profession and has inspired others to overcome adversity in order to achieve their professional goals.

Community Service Award - given in recognition of a Fil-Am individual or group that due to their unyielding advocacy and goodwill, has contributed substantially to the community.

Educational Contribution Award - given in recognition of a Fil-Am (or a non-Filipino) who has significantly advanced the education of the general public regarding the Fil-Am experience.

Manoa Identity Youth Award - given to a young person (under 20 years old) who, as in the spirit of Manoa Alcantara Jojola, has exemplified pride of the cultural heritage through expressive and creative arts.
NOTE: Past awardees, Review Committee members, FANHS-RG Officers, past presidents reviewing (see list below under Procedure) can NOT be nominated.
Past Pamana Awardees: Twenty five Fil-Ams and New Mexicans were awarded in 2000 and five in 2002. The Awardees in 2000 were: Adelfa M. Samson, Sr. Josephine Lantin de Gorostiza, Celia Tomlinson, Roan Velasco, Godofredo & Leonora Manual, Pedro & Petronila Dagucon, Gerry & Tessie Villalongja, Maxima DeLien, Cris & Emilie Underwood, Consuelo Aquino, Teem Suelto, Ernesto Quilban, Lynda Berdin, Divina Padilla, Thelma Fournier, Consuelo Zafra, Gloria Smith, Josephine Stevens, Fely Lopez, Carmelita Balido, and Bert Gatan. NOTE: Pioneer Awards were only given in 2000 to honor the presence of the pioneer Fil-Am and New Mexicans (married to Filipinos). In 2002, awardees were: Rae Aguila Van Hoven (Personal Achievement plaque), Nenette Santos Boucher (Community Service plaque), Fras Sabay (Educational Contribution plaque), Kristelle Siarza (Manoa Identity Youth statue), Lisabeth Gladden (Certificate of Achievement).
To nominate, please use the nomination form and include a write up (maximum of 2 pages) about the nominee and why he/she deserves the award. Suggested (but not required) information may include past and present achievements related to the category, community involvement, Filipino activities, if any, and family information, if desired. In the Manoa Youth Award, a favorable GPA is not required (but helpful) since the winner will be a role model to Filipino American youth.
Procedure: Copies of the nomination will be mailed or e-mailed to the initial reviewers: Nita Pascual, Dely Alcantara and Ted Jojola who will pick the preliminary line-up. The FANHS-RG Officers (Tessie Greenfield-Pres, Emilie Underwood-VP, Kristelle Siarza-Sec and Teem Suelto-Treas) and past presidents (Dave Galbiso and Evelio Sabay) will pick the final awardees.
Deadline
in sending nominations: March 15, 2005. Nominees
and Nominators will be informed of the outcome
by July 2005 or earlier. Winners will be requested
to submit a photo.
Those who will not get the award in 2005 will
be automatically eligible for the next Pamana
in 2007.
